Please just sit still!!!

If your were the type of small child like I was, you heard these words all too often.  Our parents would plead, reason and gently but firmly try to keep us in place while they dressed us.  I was a wiggle worm and my mom almost needed Velcro to keep me still long enough to get the job done.  As I look back, my pulling away and unwillingness to cooperate with her only hindered my ability to really get out there and explore this new big world I found myself in.  Mom was only trying to get me ready for the day ahead. As we have learned today, our job is to cooperate with God as He "dresses" us with His Son's image so that we can be ready for the day and experience His "blessed" life.  Some how I still haven't completely learned how to be still and cooperate with God and allow Him to conform into the image of Christ.  But when I do, then and only then will I truly be able to be all He has created me to be in this big world.  Maybe you can relate. Maybe you have learned how to cooperate with God. Or, maybe you are just "getting it" for the first time and are comitting today to allow God to conform you into the image of His son Jesus.  Let's make a point to sit on our heavenly Father's lap and allow Him to ready us to be all He wants us to be!

We are so excited to be embarking on this 40 day journey together.  Our churches and communities are longing to see what "real" following of Christ looks like.  It is our prayer that God will use this 40 day period to really speak to our hearts and lead us to place our lives in-line with His Word.  Then and only then will the waiting world be able to see what it really looks like to follow Christ.
